I kicked off of this challenge at the beginning of April just for fun. One of my blog followers, Suzanne from America, asked if I would be willing to have some kind of a stitch along and between us we decided to do one applique block a month. There will be one theme for each month but apart from that there are no firm rules. This encourages you to think for yourself. So your blocks can be as simple or complicated and in whatever style you choose. You can find your inspiration from your books and magazines or just simply design your own; so the sky’s the limit. Within this challenge you can set yourself more of a challenge by using up only what is already in your stash.
I think everyone can produce one simple block a month which you can use to make up a quilt at the end of it. After looking thru lots of books I have decided to give mine a pretty look. I don’t very often do pretty but I will for this one. And I’m making it just because I can.
So join me and a few others on our monthly “A” is for Applique journey. You will find a little tutorial on how to use Freezer Paper for hand applique here.

Hmmm. Do you have a tutorial for applique? I have some scraps now and should learn how to do this. 😀
There isn’t one at the moment but I’ll work on it. I’m sure there might be one or two others that might be interested as well. It’s always nice to see how someone else approaches the task.
Here’s my completed block. I love Pomegranate and Chintz’s birdy block!
Eagerly awaiting the other unveils!

Hi Susanne, from the books I’ve got I think this one would be the most useful to you because it covers different methods.I hope you try as many appliqued techniques and that you love everyone. Thanks for popping in today x
