Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had a good productive day. Mine has been filled with paperwork, phone calls and emails. I love being busy. It keeps me out of trouble.

Yesterday I posted a photo of some funny looking nets. Well first I’m going to reveal what their original use was. Do you remember that I received some lovely flowers for my birthday? The flowers arrived in this smart slim box that fits thru the mail slot in my door …..

Bday flowers from Sarah

The nets were placed over the delicate blooms so that they wouldn’t get damaged in transit. When I pulled the nets off the blooms it reminded me of some purpose bought nets which I use to tame thread.

I place the net over a spool of thread in order to keep the thread from tangling and unravelling all over the place. The purpose bought net, which I cannot find at the moment, came in one length which I can trim to size to fit spools and cones of thread. The bloom nets will be trimmed to fit whichever spool or cone I decide to use. At the moment I am using a net on spool of YLI hand quilting thread and it works a treat.

Yesterday Christine commented that the nets could be used as peanut feeders for the birds. That’s a splendid idea Christine.  And Linda suggested that the nets could be placed over glass bottles to keep them from banging together in transit; another great idea. Thank you to everyone who shared their thoughts with us. As always I love hearing from you. It’s what makes writing my blogposts worthwhile.

It’s been a great day in my little world. Slowly but surely I’m finding my new and improved role in life. My favourite part of each day is being creative. I didn’t do any sewing today but I did do some designing. Either one makes me very happy.

So for this evening, this very happy and super ambitious quilt maker will be doing some hand quilting. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you thoroughly enjoy. Until you read me again,

Happy stitching ♥ ♥
