Hello my lovelies. I hope you’re all having an enjoyable summer. We’ve been having the best summer ever. The weather has been rather kind to us. We’ve been able to spend some time outside in the garden; mostly sorting the things and making the garden more manageable. Everything takes time but we’re getting there.
I’ve spent quite a lot of time sorting some legal aspects of my family life. I’m juggling three different kinds of lawyers all at once. I can understand why it takes so long and so much effort to qualify as a lawyer. I think I’ll stick to what I do best.
On the creative side of life ….. I have been designing now blocks for a project. At the moment, I’m doing the prep work to bring those blocks to life. The best part of designing is seeing your drawings come to together. The most difficult part is choosing the fabric. Here’s a little sneaky peek at one of my blocks …..
It’s the perfect day for flashing up the Barbeque. We’re going to enjoy a few sausages cooked on the barbie. We’re thoroughly enjoying doing all the things everyday people do. Somehow, I’ve managed to simplify life back to the basics. Simple is really good.
It’s a while since I posted here but only because I’ve had quite a lot on my plate lately but I’m surviving. I make up a To-Do List every week and try to get thru all the tasks on it. Somehow, I get thru each week having completed my tasks but wondering how the heck I did it. I guess I must be a strong determined woman. I hope to bring you more project progress soon.
So, for this evening, this very happy a super ambitious quilt maker will be doing some English Paper Piecing. I hope you all have super cosy evening doing something you truly enjoy doing. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching
I was just wondering about you and up you popped! Glad things are going well for you and looking forward to seeing more of the new project. Enjoy the barbie!
Hi Carole, thanks for popping in today. Sarah and I are fine. We’re living quietly well. It’s a very different life to what we’re used to. I can highly recommend it xx
Lovely Lucie, I too missed your happy news. If you do get a downer you have hordes of friends rooting for you, and now we are also gasping to see the new quilt. I have finished five of my 17, so you do push us all on a bit! Keep 😊
Hi Monica, it’s lovely to hear from you. I’m so pleased that I managed to spur you on to finish some of your UFOs. I’m working at a snail’s pace on mine. It’s not a race;I’m pleased with any progress I make. Everything grows at its own speed. Finishing up five of your seventeen UFOs is excellent progress Monica. Keep up the great work and thanks for popping today x
Lovely to read your post this morning Lucie you are an amazing strong lady. Wishing you and Sarah a summer of happiness :0) xx
Hi Jane, Thanks for popping in today. I hope to be able to post more often once the kids get back to school in September. At the moment I’m devoting lots of time to getting life back on track x
Hi Lucie
If only I had a magic wand to wave, to resolve your problems!! Looking forward to seeing what the new project is!
Anne xx
Hi Anne, I’ll keep you posted about my new project. Thanks so much for popping in today xx
Missed your posts, but glad you are having a lovely summer in amongst the legal chaos. No barbies here at the moment as it’s way to chilly. Now that prep work looks very interesting & look forward to seeing more. Have a good week & take care.
Hi Lucie. I have taken your advice from our meeting at Burnopfield Belles regarding making a quilit for my proper poorly Brother. I got some landrover material from the States unfortunately the pattern is in rows downwards instead of across( that we’re used to) So I’ve sliced it up into columns and put 6inch 9patch blocks in between, but ….. I thought to add a little change to the pattern to half square triangles cut into two. What size would I cut the originall fabric? PLEASE? Thank you dear Brigid xx
Hi Brigid, I have sent you an e-mail regarding HST blocks x
