Here’s a job I worked on yesterday. Contrary to popular believe I don’t just sit around watching telly all day every day. Although I must admit that the past few days have been cold and all I’ve wanted to do is hide under a quilt watching something entertaining on the telly. So this quilt is Sylvia’s example of my Lucie’s Mystery Quilt 2011. Sylvia used some lovely fabrics. I longarm quilted it using a design called A Little Bit of This with Ice Blue 100% cotton thread. It looks so different now that all three layers have been stitched together. All that’s left is for Sylvia to add the binding which in my opinion, is a great task on these cold wintery evenings.
A couple of weeks ago I found a lovely design for a stitchery quilt. I finished the stitcheries last evening and pieced the quilt top this afternoon. I talked my friend Viv into participating in this quick make. I suspect she’s got her stitcheries finished and is working on piecing her blocks. I found the lovely designs on Kviltstina Blog for which you will find the link on the right side of this page in my blogroll list. It’s worth having a good look around Stina’s blog because her projects are superb. I plan on Free Motion Quilting my quilt top sometime soon. I really enjoyed making this quilt top. The blocks are very simple and the stitcheries are a quick make. When you put the blocks together with the stitcheries they look really nice. This would make a lovely gift. So until I get this little project quilted here’s a wee sneak peek. Thank you Stina for sharing this lovely project with us.
I can’t believe it’s already Thursday. I still have loads of jobs on my chore list for this week. I have a feeling that I will have to miss out a few things and carry them over to next week. I suppose at the end of the day it’s not a race and everything will get done eventually.
So for this evening, this happy longarm quilter will be working on red hexagons. It’s the perfect project for a weary longarm quilter. Whatever you may be doing, I hope it lifts your spirits on this cold wintery evening. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching.
